Mastercard Foundation

Mastercard foundation’s partnership with USIU-Africa.

Mastercard Foundation at USIU-Africa

USIU-Africa partnered with the Mastercard Foundation through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, a transformative initiative that provided full scholarships to academically talented but financially disadvantaged students from across Africa. The program covered tuition, accommodation, and living expenses, while also offering mentorship, leadership training, psychosocial support, and career development opportunities. This collaboration aimed to empower young Africans to become ethical, entrepreneurial, and community-driven leaders. Through this partnership, USIU-Africa strengthened its commitment to inclusive access to quality education and long-term development across the continent.

Capacity

USIU-Africa is educating over 1,000 students through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and has provided jobs to 200 young professionals through the Associates Program, driving education and youth empowerment across Africa.

Impact

Since the launch of the Mastercard Foundation partnership, USIU-Africa has supported over 5,000 students through various initiatives under the program. This impactful collaboration continues to empower Africa’s next generation of leaders and change-makers.
