Membership
United States International University – Africa values the lifelong relationship we have with our alumni. All our alumni are automatic life members of the USIU- Africa Alumni Association upon graduation.
Lifelong Rewards and Benefits
1. Financial Aid for continuing education opportunities
a) Family Tuition Waiver
This is 10% tuition waiver in recognition of parents/guardians or sponsors continuous support for USIU-Africa. Eligible applicant must have two nuclear family (siblings) members previously or currently enrolled at USIU-Africa. The Applicant must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 at Undergraduate level and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at graduate level. Doctoral program students are eligible from the Fall 2025 Semester.
b) Legatee Tuition Waiver
This is a 10% tuition waiver for children of members of the USIU-Africa Alumni Association. This waiver may be availed to eligible applicants upon admissions and is subject to availability of the allocated funds. The Applicants must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 at undergraduate level and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at graduate level. Doctoral program students are eligible from Fall 2025.
c) Graduate Waiver
This is a 10% tuition waiver for USIU-Africa alumni who are pursuing their graduate studies at the university. Beneficiaries of the grant must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and above for the continued eligibility and are not legible for the Family Tuition waiver or the Legatee Tuition Waiver. Doctoral program students are eligible from Fall 2025.
2. Alumni library services
This benefit is available to members who have paid their subscription fee of:
- KES 3,250 for 3-month full library access
- KES 5,250 for 12-month full library access
How to Pay for Library Access:
Payment Instructions via M-PESA:
- Go to M-PESA.
- Select “Lipa na M-PESA.”
- Choose “Paybill.”
- Enter Business Number: 516900.
- Enter the Account Number: Your Student ID followed by “-ALF” for Library (e.g., 654333-ALF).
- Enter the payment amount.
- Enter your PIN and click “Send.”
3. Gym & Swimming Pool Access
This benefit is available to members who have paid their subscription fee of KES. 9,000 for 3-month, KES. 15,000 for 6-month or KES24,000 annually. Alumni have access to the gym and swimming pool.

- Choose “Paybill”
- Enter Business Number: 516900
- Enter Account Number: Your Student ID followed by “-GYM” (e.g., 654333-GYM)

4. Access to university counseling services
This benefit is available to all Alumni and can be accessed either physically or virtually.
5. Access to the Incubation and Innovation Center
The university offers an entrepreneurship incubation program for current students and alumni. Whether you want to become an entrepreneur, launch a new business, or grow your startup venture, you can access free entrepreneurship coaching, mentoring, training, guest speakers, focus groups, investor pitching, networking, and office space. This benefit is available to all alumni members.
6. On-line alumni career services
The university offers an entrepreneurship incubation program for current students and alumni. Whether you want to become an entrepreneur, launch a new business, or grow your startup venture, you can access free entrepreneurship coaching, mentoring, training, guest speakers, focus groups, investor pitching, networking, and office space. This benefit is available to all alumni members.
7. Participation in alumni events
The Alumni Relations Department, working very closely with the leadership of the Alumni Association, plans and executes several on campus and off campus events geared towards mentorship, networking, and socializing. These events include, but are not limited to:
- Homecoming

- Affinity Evenings
- Cocktails & Dinners
- Breakfasts
- CEO Visits

Alumni Card
We’re excited to let you know that we have an Alumni ID Card available at a one-time fee of KES 1,000, valid for three years. This card offers a range of benefits, including:
- Seamless access to the university campus;
- Wi-Fi access throughout the validity period;
- Access to the University Library (excluding borrowing rights);
- No additional charges beyond the initial card fee.
How To Acquire Your Alumni Card
Payment Via M-PESA
- Go to M-PESA on your phone
- Select Lipa na M-PESA
- Choose Pay Bill
- Enter the Business Number: 516900
- Enter your Account Number in the format: Your Student ID – ALN (e.g., 654333-ALN)
- Enter the amount: KES 1,000
- Input your PIN and confirm the transaction
After Making The Payment
- Email a passport-size photo to: idphoto@usiu.ac.ke
- Please come pick your card from the Alumni Office.
