Housing & Accommodation
Explore our several accommodation options.
We have an objective to provide quality housing services and programs that enhance residential student success in a clean, safe and inclusive living-learning environment – a “home away from home”.
On Campus Housing
The student halls of residence allow them to live close to instructional and academic support buildings, the dining facility and other university services. Two residential buildings accommodate 258 students on campus. Facilities in the buildings include the Table Tennis/Darts/Pool Room, three TV Rooms and a Study Room.
Facilities
At USIU-Africa, our residence halls are designed to provide students with a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment. Each fully furnished room accommodates two students and comes equipped with beds, mattresses, study tables, chairs, and wardrobes. Communal bathrooms are available on every floor, shared by residents of four rooms, while telephones are provided on each floor for incoming calls.
To ensure a positive student experience, Resident Assistants live on every wing, offering guidance, support, and fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.
Because on-campus housing is limited, priority is given to international students. If space allows, students from outside Nairobi are then considered. To qualify, you must be enrolled as a full-time student taking at least 9 credit units (or a minimum of 6 units for graduate students).

Room Reservation
USIU-Africa residence halls provide fully furnished rooms designed to accommodate two students. Each room is equipped with two beds and mattresses, study tables, chairs, bookshelves, and wardrobes. Communal bathrooms are located on each floor and are shared by occupants from four rooms, while a telephone is available on every floor for incoming calls. To ensure a supportive living environment, Resident Assistants reside on each wing to offer assistance and foster a positive community experience.
Due to limited on-campus housing, priority in room allocations is given to international students, with Kenyan students considered if space allows. All students who wish to live on campus are required to complete a Room Application Form. To be eligible, undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time with at least 9 credit units, while graduate students are required to take a minimum of 6 credit units in order to stay in the Residence Halls.
Check-in / Check-out
When checking into the room, the resident will be required to fill in a check-in form with his/her Resident Assistant. This form will then be checked during checkout and any damages other than normal wear and tear will be the resident’s responsibility.

Important Information
Secure and supportive living environment plays a critical role in students’ academic journey. To supplement the limited on-campus housing, the University works closely with select private hostels to provide student accommodation.
To promote safety, reliability, and convenience, the university has a framework of vetting, accrediting and formalizing student housing arrangements. This framework considers regulatory requirements, safety, cleanliness and management. To this end the university has signed nomination agreements with three hostels. This list will be updated as and when other hostels are accredited and nomination agreement signed.
