Applicants must have attained a mean grade of <strong>B (Plain)<\/strong> or better, with at least a <strong>B- (minus)<\/strong> in English and Mathematics. The scholarship is offered in Fall (September) of every year and successful candidates must maintain a cumulative GPA of <strong>3.0 and above<\/strong> to remain eligible.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 30px;\"><strong>Sports Scholarships:<\/strong><br \/>This is a <strong>65% tuition-only<\/strong> scholarship for students in sports disciplines that are relevant to the university sports program needs. Applicants are expected to be full-time students with continued enrolment for continued eligibility.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 30px;\"><strong>Special Need Grant:<\/strong><br \/>The objective of this grant is to help students who have fallen into sudden financial hardships such as sudden death of the guardian, sudden withdrawal of sponsor from paying tuition fees, or any other significant but relevant situation. Applicants are expected to be in good academic standing.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 30px;\"><strong>Student Council (SC) Grant:<\/strong><br \/>This is a combined merit and need-based tuition-only grant introduced by the Student Council for continuing undergraduate students. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of <strong>3.0 and above<\/strong>.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 30px;\"><strong>Campus Work Opportunity Program (CWOP):<\/strong><br \/>This program provides part-time work opportunities for full-time undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate financial need. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of <strong>2.5 and above for undergraduates<\/strong> and <strong>3.2 and above for graduates<\/strong>, and be full-time students with continued enrolment to maintain eligibility. Campus work-study opportunities include:<br \/><ul style=\"margin-top: 10px; padding-left: 25px; line-height: 1.6; list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\"><strong>Resident Assistantships:<\/strong> Eligible for full-time undergraduate students. Award includes room and board in the on-campus hostels. Applications for open positions are advertised on the university website, social media platforms, and the blackboard. Applicants must be sophomore students with a cumulative GPA of <strong>3.0 and above<\/strong>.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\"><strong>Undergraduate Work-Study:<\/strong> Applicants must be continuing full-time undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of <strong>2.5 and above<\/strong>. Students work at least fifteen hours per week for a maximum of 195 hours per semester.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\"><strong>Graduate Assistantship:<\/strong> Applicants must be continuing full-time graduate students with a cumulative GPA of <strong>3.2 and above<\/strong>. Students work at least fifteen hours per week for a maximum of 260 hours per semester. Assistants support faculty with research work, conducting seminars, and instruction to selected classes for up to twenty hours per week for thirteen weeks each semester.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\"><strong>Doctoral Teaching &amp; Research Assistantship:<\/strong> Applicants must be continuing full-time doctoral students with a cumulative GPA of <strong>3.2 and above<\/strong>. Students work at least fifteen hours per week for a maximum of 260 hours per semester. Assistants support faculty with research work, conducting seminars, and instruction to selected classes for up to twenty hours per week for thirteen weeks each semester.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><strong>Educate Your Own (EYO):<\/strong><br \/><em>Educate Your Own<\/em> is a transformative student-led initiative whose overall goal is achieving zero drop-out rate among continuing USIU-Africa students experiencing financial constraints by paying <strong>25\u201350% of their tuition<\/strong>. Sponsorship is subject to availability of funds raised through <em>Educate Your Own<\/em> initiatives.
