Hands-On Compounding Workshop for Pharmacy Students
Dear Prospective Students,
Date: February 5, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Venue: Auditorium
Subject: Admission Criteria and Requirements for Undergraduate Programs
The School of Pharmacy at USIU-Africa is pleased to announce a hands-on pharmaceutical compounding workshop aimed at strengthening students’ practical competencies in medication preparation, formulation accuracy, and quality assurance.
This full-day workshop will provide participants with guided, real-world exposure to both non-sterile and basic sterile compounding techniques, including ointment preparation, capsule filling, solution formulation, labeling standards, and dosage calculations. Students will work in small supervised groups under the guidance of faculty members and laboratory technologists to ensure personalized learning and adherence to professional standards.
In addition to technical skills development, the workshop will emphasize best practices in laboratory safety, hygiene protocols, documentation, and error prevention — critical competencies for clinical practice and industrial pharmacy settings. Participants will also gain insights into regulatory expectations and quality control measures used in professional pharmacy environments.
Attendance is highly encouraged for students preparing for advanced laboratory courses and clinical placements. Spaces are limited due to laboratory capacity, and registration is required. Interested students should register through the School of Pharmacy office or via the student portal by January 30, 2026.
Participants are required to wear full laboratory protective gear, including a lab coat and closed shoes. Certificates of participation will be issued upon successful completion of the workshop.
For further inquiries, please contact the School of Pharmacy administrative office.
Best regards,
